Sewer Line Inspection & Cleaning

Your home's sewer line is the single most important pipe on the property — a complete blockage or collapse means no drains work at all. Long Beach Plumbers uses a flexible push-rod color camera with a self-leveling lens to inspect sewer lines from 3 to 8 inches in diameter. The camera transmits real-time footage to a monitor so we can show you exactly what's inside your pipe — grease accumulations, tree root intrusion, offset joints, cracked pipe sections, or bellied (sagging) sections that hold standing water.

Long Beach's mature urban tree canopy is beautiful, but ficus, magnolia, and eucalyptus roots are notorious for finding hairline cracks in clay or cast-iron sewer pipes and exploiting them over time. Once inside, roots quickly form a fibrous mat that catches toilet paper and solids until a complete blockage occurs. We use a mechanical root-cutting attachment on our sectional drain machine to shave roots back to the pipe wall, then follow with hydro-jetting to flush all debris downstream and leave the pipe walls clean.

A sewer camera inspection is also essential when buying a home, after a large tree has been removed, or when you've experienced repeated sewer backups. We can record the inspection footage to a USB drive so you have documentation for a real estate transaction, insurance claim, or future reference.
